Hays Co. Artists Reserve Your Exhibit Space at Government Center Now

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – The Hays County Arts Commission has extended its deadline to 5 p.m. April 29 for local artists who have works they want considered for the next exhibit at the Hays County Government Center.

“We’ve had a fantastic array of works already exhibited, from large, impressive sculptures to abstract paintings and real-life scenes of Texas and everything in between,” Arts Commission Chair Kate Johnson said. “The public is always impressed with the quality and variety of artistic representations being created right here in Hays County.”

The Arts Commission sponsors a rotating exhibit of works at the Government Center, allowing Hays County artists working in all genres to show off their works. Artists must be residents of Hays County. Each exhibit remains for about four months and new exhibits are kicked off with a reception for artists and members of the public who want to get a first look at the exhibit. Most works are displayed on the second floor of the Government Center, located at 712 S. Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos. The building is typically open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Artist who want their works considered should visit www.co.hays.tx.us and review the guidelines posted on the home page.
