By: Brittany Baig
Dripping Springs, TX – Residents in the Ledgestone Subdivision are still on edge as the search for the man suspected of attempting to break into four homes on Friday night continues.
An image of the suspect was captured by a homeowners’ surveillance camera. The video shows the suspect coming up to the backdoor and looking through the window of the home, and then taking off from the property seconds later after what is believed an alarm scared him off.
The suspect successfully broke into one of the homes Friday night through the back window of Dripping Springs resident Adam Beckman’s house and stole a piece of jewelry before leaving.
According to Hays County Sheriff’s Department, Sgt. Mike Wood of Criminal Investigations, “The homeowner [Adam Beckman] discovered the suspect in the home, and then proceeded to follow him into the backyard where he confronted him. The suspect then threatened him [Beckman] with a gun, but no gun was seen by the homeowner before the suspect took off.
On Saturday the Hays County Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate the suspect in these incidents for several hours with the assistance of Travis County K-9 and the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter according to Lt. Jeri Skrocki. The subject was not located.
A small bag containing a controlled substance was found by investigators behind one the homes, but police do not know if it is related to the suspect.

The police have no new leads and are encouraging anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the man featured in the surveillance video to contact the Hays County Sheriff’s Office or the Hays County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477).
