Hays County Announces Open House For Next Phase Of Dacy Lane Improvements

Through-lanes and shoulders will be improved and continuous turn lanes will be added to most sections, and residents who live near the intersection of Dacy Lane and Hillside Terrace will be able to access their properties by way of a slip road.

Hays County will begin working on the next phase of Dacy Lane improvements in fall 2018 and will hold an Open House on October 3 to explain the changes to area residents and travelers.

The Open House will be at McCormick Middle School, 5700 Dacy Lane, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This phase will update the mostly rural roadway to help improve mobility and safety for what is becoming a more heavily traveled area.

Through-lanes and shoulders will be improved and continuous turn lanes will be added to most sections, and residents who live near the intersection of Dacy Lane and Hillside Terrace will be able to access their properties by way of a slip road.

Intersection needs at BeBee and Windy Hill Roads will be analyzed as well as the need for sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.

Right-of-Way acquisition has been underway along Dacy Lane for several years with funds from the 2008 Priority Road Bond Program.

With the passing of the voter-approved 2016 Road Bonds, funding is now available for design and construction. The County seeks input from area residents and travelers on the best, affordable design for the road.
