Hays County Commissioners Court Proclaims Manufacturing Day & Month

Hays County Courthouse, TX  – Last week the Hays County Commissioners Court proclaimed October 4, 2019 as Manufacturing Day and October as Manufacturing Month and thanked the Greater San Marcos Manufacturing Association and the Greater San Marcos Partnership for helping to bring quality businesses and employment to the area.

According to the proclamation, the average annual wage for manufacturing jobs in Hays County is $56,000, compared to the average annual wage of approximately $39,000 across all industries.

Manufacturing in Hays County provides more than 4,900 jobs and more than six percent of total employment.

The proclamation notes that manufacturers in Hays County have opened their doors to San Marcos CISD and Hays CISD to share STEM-related educational pathways to opportunities in the industry.
