Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – The Hays County Commissioners Court Tuesday proclaimed Monday, February 18, as Presidents Day and Public Service Recognition Day. County Judge Ruben Becerra will read the proclamation at 9 a.m. Monday on the Courthouse steps facing San Antonio Street. The public is cordially invited.
The proclamation reads in part: It is with great pride that we recognize the contributions of public servants in appreciation of efforts nationwide to engage citizens, improve lives, and strengthen communities. The Great State of Texas honors these distinguished Texans who served as President, namely Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon Baines Johnson, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush.
Cadets from Gary Job Corps and members of the San Marcos American Legion Post #144, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3413 and Post 3413 Auxiliary will place flags around the grounds to celebrate the day.
