Hays County employees donated new pillows and pillow cases to the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center as part of the “Pillow of Peace” initiative brought to Hays County by Human Resources Department employee Cynthia Bentley. Having worked with the initiative in New Orleans before moving to Kyle two years ago, Bentley said she was well aware of the comfort that taking home a “pillow of peace” can provide when a client moves on from a shelter environment.
This year, 98 pillows were donated to HCWC by Hays County employees and the Kiwanis Club of Pontchartrain, New Orleans. County employees also donated 48 pillow cases, some of which were hand-decorated “with love” by Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Court Administrator Janet Pesl.
