Hays County Hazard Mitigation Update Plan – Public Draft Comment Period

Earlier this year, Hays County asked for your input regarding local community hazards by taking part in the Hays County Hazard Mitigation Planning Public Opinion Survey. The goal for the county was to come up with an updated Hays County Mitigation Plan.

A Hazard Mitigation Plan outlines actions that can be taken to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and their property from natural hazards. It is an effective tool in identifying risks from and vulnerabilities to natural hazards, allowing communities to take action to protect its people and infrastructure before disasters occur.

The public draft of the plan is now available for public comment. We’ve included a link to the Buda portion of the plan below: City of Buda – Hays County Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan.

For a look at the draft plan documents for the rest of Hays County, please go to their website here: Hays County Mitigation Plan Draft – Hays County Website Link

Scroll to the public comment section at bottom of the web page.

Public comments on the proposed draft documents will be accepted from July 12 through July 26, 2017.
