Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Judge Bert Cobb, M.D., announced at the close of today’s Commissioners Court meeting that he would be absent from the dais for an indefinite amount of time to begin treatment for leukemia.
As tradition holds, he will pass the gavel to Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe, the senior-most member of the Commissioners Court, to conduct Court activities in his absence.
The Judge said that while he would not physically be in the Courthouse, he would be watching Court proceedings and communicating electronically with staff and elected officials.
He also said that he appreciated all good wishes coming his way.
