Hays County Lifts Bun Ban

Hays County Burn Ban Lifted

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County Judge Bert Cobb, M.D., has lifted the burn ban in the unincorporated area of Hays County until further notice.

Hays County Fire Marshal Mark Chambers said that recent rains have made it safer to burn than in past weeks, although if low humidity returns to the area the burn ban could be placed back on.

When burning outdoors, please let your local fire department know (not the Sheriff’s Office), keep a water source nearby and never leave the fire unattended until you are certain the fire is entirely out.
