Hays County Promoting Water & Soil Stewardship

Water & Soil Stewardship Promoted April 24-May 1

The Hays County Commissioners Court urged all Hays County residents to voluntarily practice effective stewardship of land and water to help keep natural resources healthy for all of Texas and proclaimed the week of April 24-May 1 as Water & Soil Stewardship Week in Hays County.

Benefits of good land and water stewardship include healthy soil, water quantity and quality enhancements, and sustainable food, fiber and timber, according to the proclamation. The Court also called on each person to voluntarily help conserve precious resources.

The State Soil and Water Conservation Board provides information for landowners and businesses on conservation topics at http://www.tsswcb.texas.gov/.
