HAYS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports five COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle woman in her 20s, a San Marcos man in his 60s, a San Marcos man in his 50s, a San Marcos woman in her 70s, and a Wimberley man in his 70s. This update covers October 2-4, 2021.
The department also reports 166 new lab-confirmed cases along with 14 new hospitalizations and 11 new hospital discharges. There are 241 additional persons considered recovered. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 28,766. Hays County has 988 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 1,889 active cases.
Hays County has had 1,307 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 39 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 31 are unvaccinated, which is about 79 percent.
