Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one COVID-related fatality, a Buda woman in her 80s. The department also reports 12 new lab-confirmed cases along with one (1) new hospitalization and five (5) new hospital discharges. There are 17 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 16,356.
The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 16,957. Hays County has 365 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 560 active cases. Hays County has had 782 total COVID-related hospitalizations and nine (9) people are currently hospitalized.
According to the state health department, all adults will be eligible for a vaccine in Texas beginning March 29.
