Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports one (1) new COVID-related fatality, a San Marcos man in his 80s. The department also reports 195 new lab-confirmed cases along with five (5) new hospitalizations and two (2) new hospital discharges. There are 104 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 20,181.
The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 22,689. Hays County has 2,219 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 2,781 active cases. Hays County has had 22,689 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 49 people are currently hospitalized. Out of those currently hospitalized, eight (8) are fully vaccinated while 41 are unvaccinated; this data is provided directly from the hospitals where those patients are staying. Due to technical difficulties, we were unable to break down the active cases by age. Those numbers will be updated with Monday’s report.
NOTE: During a weekly routine data audit the HCLHD removed 16 cases due to out of county or duplicate.
