Hays County Sheriff Presents Checks To CASA & HCWC

The funds were raised during the Sheriff’s Scramble Fore Kids golf tournament fundraiser that was held on September 22, 2017, at the Quicksand Country Club in Wimberley, Texas.

On December 18th, 2017, Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler presented checks to Norma Blackwell with the Court Appointed Advocates for Abused and Neglected Children (CASA) of Central Texas and Melissa Rodriguez with the Hays -Caldwell Women’s Center in the amount of $1,500 each.

The funds were raised during the Sheriff’s Scramble Fore Kids golf tournament fundraiser that was held on September 22, 2017, at the Quicksand Country Club in Wimberley, Texas. The tournament provided scholarships to some graduating seniors from San Marcos, Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Lehman and Hays high schools.

CASA of Central Texas, Inc. provides valuable volunteer advocacy for abused child ren from Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties. CASA volunteers serve as the “eyes and ears” for the judges in child welfare cases.

The Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center mission is to help create environments where violence and abuse are not tolerated.

The Women’s Center provides education, violence prevention services and crisis intervention to victims of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
