On Sunday, October 20, 2019, at approximately 10:30 AM, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a call that the front doors to Johnson High School in Buda were open, and they had graffiti on them.
Upon arrival, deputies observed lettering spray-painted on the front doors and glass as well as graffiti spray-painted on the pillars.
On the following day, the School Resource Officer was notified that there was more graffiti found at the football/track field.
There was graffiti spray-painted on the turf on the football field and the surrounding track as well as graffiti on the track and field station and the visitor’s stadium seating.
Total damages were approximately $160,000 with the most significant portion being the replacement of the track and the center logo on the football field. Each could not be partially fixed due to the color scheme of the track and logo.
After reviewing school cameras, receiving a Crime Stoppers tip, and interviewing several students, the Sheriff’s Office was able to identify all four of the subjects that were seen on the school video camera.
Warrants were issued and three of the four surrendered themselves at the Hays County where they were charged with Graffiti of a School, a state jail felony. The suspects were identified as:
Paris Erhardt Foster, 17 years of age from Kyle
Coleman Walker Johnson, 17 years of age from Buda
Timothy Allen Sharp, 18 years of age from Kyle
All three were released on bond after being magistrated. Two of the three attended Hays High School, and the other attended the Live Oak Academy.
The fourth person in the video was not charged due to not participating in the vandalism.
Due to the ongoing investigation, nothing further can be released at this time.
