Hays County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Animal Cruelty Case

On November 4th,  2019, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office animal control unit was dispatched to a residence off of Rolling Hills Drive in Buda for a report of cruelty to animals. 

Subsequent investigation revealed that alleged cocking fighting may have been occurring. 

The case has been turned over to the criminal investigations division, and on November 22, 2019, a search warrant was executed and approximately 118 fowl were removed from the residence and taken to the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter. 

No arrests have been made in this case.  Further information will be released when available.
