The Hays County Commissioners Court will discuss and consider the acceptance of the HAVA Cares ACT 2020 grant award from the Texas Secretary of State.
The grant is related to prevention, preparation and response to Coronavirus for the 2020 Federal Election Cycle.
The Commissioners Court passed a resolution in support of the HAVA Cares Act grant aware last week, and the notice of grant award has been received from the SOS, according to the agenda.
The aware has a 20 percent required to match, which the Election Administrator, Jennifer Anderson, will use Chapter 19 funds pursuant to Section 19.004 of the TX Election Code.
The award amount is $191.857.34. The county will be required to match funds with a total of $38,371.47.
Chapter 19 Funds will total $35,798.33. The remaining $2,573.14 will come from county funds.
Commissioners Court will convene at 9:00 AM Tuesday morning, June 9, at the Hays County Historic Courthouse.
