Hays County To Host Open House For Lime Kiln Road Improvements

Two low water crossings will be replaced by constructing a new bridge crossing at the San Marcos River and adding culverts and raising the roadway at Sink Creek.

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County will begin construction on Lime Kiln Road improvements in late Summer 2019, and will hold an Open House on October 16 to explain the project scope to area residents and travelers. The Open House will be at PromiseLand Church, 1650 Lime Kiln Rd, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The project will improve access to Lime Kiln and Hilliard Subdivisions, reduce travel delays during storms and enhance roadway mobility and safety for what is becoming a more heavily traveled area.

Two low water crossings will be replaced by constructing a new bridge crossing at the San Marcos River and adding culverts and raising the roadway at Sink Creek.

Intersection improvements are also planned at Windemere and Lime Kiln to improve safety.

Right-of-Way acquisition has been underway along Lime Kiln for several months with funds from the 2016 Road Bond Program. The project was awarded CAMPO funding in 2017 and is currently in final design phase with construction scheduled for Summer 2019.
