HCCS Rams Break Losing Streak

After a 0-10 season last year, the Hill Country Christian School Rams put in the work to come back stronger this season, and it definitely showed on the field last Friday night in their kick-off game against the Medina High School Bobcats.

The Bobcats didn’t waste any time in scoring, bringing in a touchdown early in the first quarter. The Rams quickly answered with junior running back Ben Walton scoring a touchdown. Walton made another touchdown in the second quarter, but the Bobcats still had the lead.  The first half ended with a score of 12-16, Bobcats.

Coming back from halftime with a renewed energy, junior receiver Gibson Pucel scored one touchdown, and Ben Walton scored three touchdowns raising the score to 39-22, Rams.

“We came out a little sluggish in the first half,” said senior captain Jeremy Crauthers, “but we had a little prayer at halftime, and picked it up in the second half.”

Walton finished the game with a total of five touchdowns, while Pucel scored one touchdown reception, and sophomore quarterback Jett Reed had a touchdown pass.

“We did what we were supposed to do,” stated sophomore wide receiver Thomas “Chango” Hamilton, “Everyone worked together. It wasn’t just six guys out there; it was one team.”
