At approximately 9:31 PM on February 8th, 2020, a Hays County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a 1999 red Toyota passenger car in the 700 block of Old Fitzhugh Rd. in Dripping Springs, TX.
The vehicle stopped for a brief moment before fleeing. As deputies attempted to get the vehicle to stop, a passenger in the fleeing vehicle produced a firearm and discharged multiple shots in the direction of the pursuing deputy.
Neither the Deputy nor the vehicle was struck and no injuries were reported.
Deputies pursued the vehicle until it wrecked near the intersection of US HWY 281 and HWY 290 in Blanco County.
There were no other vehicles involved. One occupant was detained at this location and subsequently released. He was identified as VILLEGAS, Michael A W/M DOB: 08/07/1992
Two other suspects fled on foot and a search was conducted. Sometime later, DPS was able to locate and apprehend both suspects near the area and placed under arrest.
They have been identified as:
• SOTO, Klarissa M W/F DOB: 10/13/2000
• CASTRO, Nathaniel M W/M DOB: 02/21/1997
Both were charged with Evading Arrest/Detention (Class A Misdemeanor), Evading Arrest/Detention with a vehicle (3rd-degree felony), Aggravated Assault on a Public.

One occupant was taken into custody at this location while two suspects fled on foot. An active search is being conducted by several law enforcement agencies on the scene.
This is an active incident and no other details are available at this time. No law enforcement officers were injured during this incident.
