SAN MARCOS —The San Marcos Art Center has announced May’s featured exhibit by the Hill Country photography club, showing May 4th through May 29th. The exhibit will feature works from Central Texas photographers, both professional and intermediate, that vary in subject.
The San Marcos Art League (SMAL) will host their opening reception at the San Marcos Art Center on May 6th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a chance to meet the photographers, along with complimentary refreshments.
During the May 6th reception, a raffle will be taking place where participants can win prints from various photographers in the club.
Founded in 2003 by Jane Moss and Roger Palmer, the Hill Country Photography Club is an informal group of photographers of all ages and experience who are interested in exploring photography as an art medium.
“The Hill Country Photography Club strives to help members improve their individual photographic styles, as well as to learn more about the art and science of both film and digital photography,” SMAL said in a press release.
The club holds monthly meetings, sponsors contests and exhibitions and hosts periodic lectures, workshops, and field trips; meetings are open to the public. For more information on the club, visit https://hcphotoclub.org/.
