SAN MARCOS – City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, Animal Shelter, Public Library, and Utility Offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 23 and 24, for the Christmas holiday and Friday, Dec. 31 for the New Year’s holiday.
San Marcos Municipal Court, located at the Hays County Government Center at 712 South Stagecoach Road, will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 27 to coincide with the Hays County holiday facility closings. The Court offices will also be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and Monday, Jan. 3.
The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter will be open on Wednesday, Dec. 22 for a bonus adoption day from noon to 5 p.m. The Adoption and Receiving/Reclaim operations will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 23 through Saturday, Dec. 25, to coincide with other City offices.
Adoption operations will resume regular office hours Monday, Dec. 27 at noon and the Intake/Reclaim operations will resume Monday at 8 a.m. The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter will also be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1. Emergency animal services are available by calling the San Marcos Police Department non-emergency line at 512.753.2108.
Household Hazardous Waste drop-off will be closed Friday, Dec 24 and Friday, Dec 31.
Texas Disposal Systems Holiday Schedule
Normal service schedule for trash and recycling. Customers planning to go out of town are asked to put their carts on the curb no earlier than 7 p.m. the night before scheduled pick up and return it to the house as soon as they return.
Residents who will be gone all week are encouraged to ask a neighbor to take their trash cart to the curb on their trash day and then return it to their home after pickup.
San Marcos Ride Carts Holiday Schedule
Local San Marcos “The Bus” routes, and paratransit will not operate on Thursday, Dec. 23, Friday, Dec. 24, or Friday, Dec. 31 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Interurban 1510 will be available Thursday, Dec. 23, but will not operate Friday, Dec. 24, or Friday, Dec. 31 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s holiday.
The San Marcos Station / Greyhound station will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23. The station will be closed from Friday, Dec. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 26 and on Friday, Dec. 31.
