Honorable Mention All-American Honors Earned By Johnson And Men’s 4x100m Relay

His best toss came on his third and final throw at 18.91m (62-0.5), the eighth best mark in program history, to take 18th and earn honorable mention All-American honors for the second year in a row.


EUGENE, Ore. –
At the final NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Historic Hayward Field, T’Mond Johnson and the men’s 4x100m relay team of Jaylen Allen, De’Marcus Porter, Lincoln Warren and Carlos Wilson earned honorable mention All-American honors.

The relay team placed 18th overall with a season best time of 39.81. It was the second fastest time in program history and is the third straight year that a Bobcat foursome have broken 40 seconds. TXST beat out other squads from Cal State Fullerton, Georgia, Purdue and Stanford.

For Porter, he is now a three-time honorable mention All-American. The senior also earned the accolade in both 2016 and 2015 with the 4x400m relay team.

Warren is now a two-time honorable mention All-American as he was also a member of the 2016 4x400m relay with Porter.

Johnson was the first shot putter in the second of two simultaneous flights. His best toss came on his third and final throw at 18.91m (62-0.5), the eighth best mark in program history, to take 18th and earn honorable mention All-American honors for the second year in a row. It was the sixth time this season that the junior has recorded a top 10 program mark in the shot put.
