Commissioner Ingalsbe, Precinct 1 and Commissioner Conley, Precinct 3 Invite You to Attend an Open House
Hays County and the Texas Department of Transportation in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration are considering modifications to the I?35 and Posey Road intersection. Changes may include removing the existing Posey Road Bridge and reconstructing I?35 over Posey Road along with six ramp reversals, conversion of two?way frontage roads, and adjustments to not preclude a Future Transportation Corridor on I?35. The purpose of this proposed project is to enhance safety and mobility.
The purpose of the open house is to share project information with the public and obtain public input to be considered during the development of the project. The meeting will be an open house format and there will be no formal presentation. Attendees will be able to view project maps, environmental constraints maps, visit one?on?one with project team members, ask questions, and share comments on the project.
All comments must be received or postmarked by Monday, January 26, 2015 for inclusion in the Open House Record using one of the following methods:
The meeting will be conducted in English and a Spanish translator will be available. Those who have special translation or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact Arin Gray (512?533?9100 Ext. 12, poseyroad@gmail.com) by January 9, 2015. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.

Modifications to the I?35 and Posey Road intersection are proposed to include removing the existing Posey Road Bridge and reconstructing I?35 over Posey Road.
The project will also consider reversing ramps (changing entrance ramps to exit ramps, and exit ramps to entrance ramps) in the following locations:
At the start of the Posey Road project construction, the frontage roads south of Posey will be converted to one?way traffic operations, southbound only on the west side of I?35 and northbound only on the east side of I?35.
The project will make adjustments to the I?35 mainlanes that will not preclude a FTC anticipated to consist of a proposed additional lane in each direction of I?35 from Hays County heading north, through Travis and Williamson counties. The FTC would be assessed for environmental impacts in the future and is not a part of the Posey Road project. However, adjustments are being made so that if the project moves forward it would not preclude an additional lane in each direction. This concept is being studied as part of the TxDOT?led Mobility35 project. More information on the FTC can be found here: http://mobility35.org/proposedconcepts/ftc.aspx
