I-35 Project At FM 3406 Breaks Ground

AUSTIN – Construction is underway on a $12.4 million project to improve safety and mobility along Interstate 35 in Williamson County at FM 3406 (Old Settlers Boulevard). The project will improve the intersection of I-35 and Old Settlers Boulevard, including a bridge replacement and new U-turn bridges.

Today, the Texas Department of Transportation joined city of Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw and members of the community at the project’s groundbreaking ceremony. Work includes replacing the Old Settlers Boulevard bridge over I-35 and building U-turn bridges in each direction. These improvements will increase mobility and travel speeds, especially during peak periods.

Work begins this month and is expected to be complete in spring 2019, weather permitting. The project contractor is Flatiron Contractors, Inc.
