While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.

THIS WEEK’S PROJECT TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Closures are weather permitting

 

  • The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting

 

  • Westbound traffic at FM 3406 to use new turnaround Bridge over I-35 until further notice. | Saturday, April 14 to Friday, April 20

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.

Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

  • Various frontage road closures in each direction between 6th St. and 11th St. 7th and 8th underpasses are also closed. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • Northbound I-35 two left lanes closed at Oltorf St. | From 10 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • I-35 frontage road right lane closed as needed in each direction between Woodward St. & Oltorf St. Watch for flaggers. | From 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between SH 71 & Woodward St. | From 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Park Plaza Dr. & E. Powell Ln. | Until 5 AM Monday, April 30.

 

  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Dr. & US 290 E. | Until 5 AM Tuesday, July 3

 

  • Northbound I-35 left lane closed between US 290 E. & US 183. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Dr. & US 290/RM 2222/Koenig Ln. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • Southbound I-35 exit for US 183 closed. Detour to Rundberg Ln. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • St. Johns Ave. closed at I-35. Detour to Huntland Dr. & Ronald Johnson Dr. | From 10 AM to 2 PM Thursday, April 19

 

  • Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Barwood Dr. Watch for flaggers. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.

Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

  • Northbound I-35 right lane closed at William Cannon Dr. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • Northbound I-35 left two lanes closed between William Cannon Dr. and Stassney Ln. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15th through Thursday, April 19th

 

  • Southbound I-35 left lane closed under William Cannon Dr. | From 10 PM until 6 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Dr. and Nelms St. | From 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, April 16 through Saturday, April 21

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road alternating closures between Boggy Creek Dr. & Nelms St. | 8 PM Monday, April 16 to 5 AM Tuesday, April 17

 

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Slaughter Ln. & Boggy Creek Dr. | From 8 PM until 5 AM Sunday, April 15 through Thursday, April 19

 

  • Eastbound Stassney Ln. closed approaching I-35. | From 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, April 16 through Wednesday, April 18

 

  • Northbound I-35 right shoulder closed at Slaughter Ln. | From 9 AM until 3 PM Thursday, April 19 & Friday, April 20
