AUSTIN, Texas – More than 1,700 families who were selected through IDEA Austin’s random lottery for the 2018-19 school year will begin the process of getting acquainted with their new IDEA school at Welcome to IDEA campus events across the Austin area.
On Feb. 24 and March 3, IDEA will host Welcome-To-IDEA from 10 AM to 12 PM at their campuses in Kyle, Pflugerville and Austin.
Welcome to IDEA is an annual event IDEA schools host for new-to-IDEA families. At the celebratory and informative event for those just accepted to IDEA Public Schools, families will get to meet principals, teachers, and staff, in addition to learning the fundamentals of IDEA’s culture of high expectations and achievement.
IDEA Austin, a family of public charter schools, will open four new schools in the fall of 2018 in Kyle and Pflugerville, Texas. IDEA Kyle Academy and College Prep and IDEA Pflugerville will serve more than 1,000 students in the Austin Area in grades Kinder through 2nd and 6th.
The schools will add a grade level until they serve grades Kinder through 12th in 2024, committed to maintaining its legacy of sending 100% of its graduates to college.
Attend the event at IDEA Austin area campus to speak to new-to-IDEA families and learn why they chose IDEA for their child’s education.
IDEA opened its doors in 2001 with just a 150 students enrolled. Now it’s grown to 61 tuition-free charter schools with grades pre-K through 12. It serves more than 35,000 students and is on-track to sending 100 percent of its graduactes to college according to the website.
As a non-profit organization, IDEA relies on the financial support of donors, foundations and “friends of IDEA.”
