Buda Considering Renovating Former Library Building Into Visitor Center

The city of Buda is continuing its efforts to retrofit the former Buda Public Library, 303 S. Main St., into a visitor center.

Councilmembers were updated at their June 2 on project costs and presented with a preliminary floor plan for the proposed visitors center.

The city would be allowed to use hotel occupancy tax (HOT) revenues to pay for renovations that could include the addition of a fire suppression system, installation of rain gutters, and replacement of the building’s HVAC systems.

City Council is set to discuss the visitor center project at its June 16 meeting. The city would solicit bids in September if the council passes the project.
