San Marcos Names New Neighborhood Enhancement Director

This week the City of San Marcos announced the selection of Greg Carr as the new Director of Neighborhood Enhancement.

He will join the City team on Monday, March 23. 

“Greg will join the City with 30 years of experience in animal services, code enforcement, neighborhood engagement, and law enforcement,” said Director of Public Safety Chase Stapp. “His extensive history of growing relationships across municipalities and neighborhoods will be a true asset to the City and to our Neighborhood Enhancement team.”

Carr comes to San Marcos from the City of Round Rock, where he has served as the Neighborhood Services Coordinator since 2018.

He also led Neighborhood Services departments in the City of Arvada, CO, and the City of Chandler, AZ, as well as serving as Code Enforcement and Animal Control Administrator for the City of Frisco, TX.

Greg has served as president of the American Association of Code Enforcement and as a member and board member for the Colorado Association of Code Enforcement Officials.

Carr holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He also served four years active duty and six years reserve duty as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Army.
