Janice Jones, Executive Assistant To Hays County Judge, Joins General Counsel’s Office Staff

“Mrs. Jones has exhibited an ability to handle a wide breadth of duties while working in the County Judge’s Office,” Hays County General Counsel Mark Kennedy said.

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX –The Hays County Office of General Counsel has announced that Janice Jones, former Executive Assistant to County Judge Bert Cobb, has joined the General Counsel’s Office as Legal Support Services Specialist.

Mrs. Jones takes this position with the full support and blessing of the County Judge.

“Mrs. Jones has exhibited an ability to handle a wide breadth of duties while working in the County Judge’s Office,” Hays County General Counsel Mark Kennedy said. “She administered and helped develop standards for Hays County’s Parking Mobility program, and has ensured that the weekly Commissioners Court agenda is perfected and statutorily compliant. In her nearly eight years in the County Judge’s Office, she has handled an array of issues, all while fielding phone calls and walk-ins from staff and citizens. This highly qualifies her for work in the Office of General Counsel.”

As the Legal Support Services Specialist, Mrs. Jones will be responsible for managing the Commissioners Court agenda throughout its development, a role she took on as executive assistant to the County Judge.

She will continue that role while taking on the additional tasks of document routing, third-party coordination, and finalization of Court actions.

She will also support the Office of General Counsel by working on a variety of projects that stem from almost every office of Hays County government. Her replacement has not been named.
