Job and education fair in Hays County

HAYS COUNTY – The next Get HIRED! Job & Education Fair will offer job interviews and open positions at competitive wages in a variety of industry sectors, including employers from Buda, Kyle and Lockhart.

The event, presented by Frost Bank, will take place on Thursday, November 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gemstone Palace Event Center (1101 Bunton Road #200, Kyle, TX 78640). The event is free for job seekers.

Employers confirmed to be at the event include Simwon (a known Tesla supplier), Iron Ox, ENF Technologies, Serta Dormae, Fashion Glass & Mirror, Pure Castings, Signify, Rosendin Electric, Collins Aerospace, Texas Disposal Systems, Alsco Linens and many more.

Austin Community College will also be present at the event, offering training programs for new trade and certification tracks. Job seekers are encouraged to visit greatersanmarcostx.com/events to see the most updated list of employers and institutions that will be at the event.

“New and expanding companies have been discovering the workforce available here the Texas Innovation Corridor, offering wages above the county average and providing strong careers for our region’s workforce,” said Barbara Thomason, director of business retention and expansion for the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), which will serve as one of the hosts of the event. “This event will connect our robust workforce with these employers, providing the opportunity to have a higher quality of life.”

Other partners in hosting this event include the Buda Economic Development Corporation, Kyle Economic Development, the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Lockhart Economic Development Corporation. Employers with job openings and educational partners who wish to participate are invited to visit gethiredtx.eventbrite.com to secure a spot to meet with job seekers.

In March 2021, the first-ever Get Hired! Job & Education Fair provided more than 150 pre-registered job seekers the opportunity to connect with more than one dozen regional employers.
