Keep San Marcos Beautiful Spring Concert Series To Continue With The Georges

Regulars of Gruene Hall, The Georges are a popular central Texas band with a loyal following.


The second concert in the Keep San Marcos Beautiful Live on the Lawn Concert Series at San Marcos Plaza Park will feature The Georges Thursday, April 12 at San Marcos Plaza Park, 401 E. Hopkins, located at the corner of CM Allen Parkway and Hopkins..

Pre-concert events begin at 6:30 p.m., and concert headliners take the stage at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Georges: This rockabilly band has been making people dance their socks off for almost a decade. With two albums and a third on the way, The Georges are a must see group that will make you want to get up and get moving. Regulars of Gruene Hall, The Georges are a popular central Texas band with a loyal following.

This week’s sustainability theme is water and energy, with booths featuring different forms of water and energy conservation. 

In case of severe weather, the spring concert series will be moved to The Marc, 102 E. San Antonio Street. Free public, on-street parking is available within walking distance of the concert, as well as at City Park.

The parking lots at the Chamber of Commerce and Old Fish Hatchery will be closed to the general public, and parking attendants will be on hand to allow for volunteer, vendor, and sponsor parking. The parking lot at the Grant Harris, Jr. Building/Parks and Recreation main office is designated handicap accessible parking.

The public is invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the free concert. Responsible use of alcohol is allowed at this event for those over 21. Park rules prohibit Styrofoam, glass, and smoking.

The KSMB Live on the Lawn Concert Series will continue every Thursday evening through April 26. Acts for the 2018 spring season include:

  • April 19: Those Nights
  • April 26: Big Cedar Fever

Live on the Lawn is made possible by support from The Root Cellar Café, Texas Disposal Systems, Lawn Doctor of South Austin – San Marcos, Carson Properties, Mensor, Mystic Marks Tattoo, and Ault and Ault Orthodontics.
