Keep SMTX Beautiful Initiative To Launch Recognition Program

The City of San Marcos Keep San Marcos Beautiful initiative is launching the “Kudos Coin” giveaway on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at National Night Out in recognition of people who perform good deeds in the community.

Kudos Coins can be redeemed for special offers from local businesses. They will be distributed throughout the year by Councilmembers and City staff.

“We have an amazing community of dedicated and proactive people,” said Community Initiatives Manager Amy Kirwin. “The City and Keep San Marcos Beautiful wanted to highlight those who make San Marcos a better place to live, work and play, and with the Kudos Coin we are off to a great start.”

Good deeds include collecting litter, helping a neighbor, protecting the waterways and a variety of other actions.

  • Austin Java – 50 percent off any drink
  • Creeds & Crests- 50 percent off a single item
  • Insomnia Cookies – 1 free cookie
  • Rhea’s Ice Cream – Free scoop of ice cream
  • Root Cellar Café – Free dessert
  • Son of a Sailor – 25 percent off a single item
  • Stellar Coffee Co – $1 off a beverage
  • Tap Room – Free beverage
  • The Coffee Bar – Free small drink
