Kyle City Council Takes Next Step In Widening Of Windy Hill Road

On Oct. 20, the Kyle City Council accepted a bid of $2.48 million from Smith Contracting Co. Inc. to widen Windy Hill Road.

The council selected Smith out of eight bids the city received; the highest bid was priced at $3.74 million from Aaron Concrete Contractors.

According to the city, the scope of work includes “the construction of a new 47-foot width roadway, structure improvements, grading, base, pavement, curb and gutter, pedestrian improvements, safety light, signing and markings for approximately 0.47 mile of roadway.”

On Thursday, Oct. 22, the City of Kyle announced the launch of a new projects module to provide residents with the latest information on city projects.

The module includes information on projects that have been completed, are in progress, and are planned but have yet to begin.
