Kyle City Council To Discuss Downtown Christmas Festivities

Staff Reports

The City of Kyle City Council will receive a presentation on Downtown Christmas festivities Tuesday night including park lighting and Santa on the Square.

Due to COVID-19, many local holiday traditions are being reimagined throughout the Hays County region.

While the City of Buda will continue its annual trail of lights this year, residents will only be able to drive the event this year in efforts to maintain distancing practices.

Sights and Sounds of Christmas San Marcos intend to spread the holiday spirit into Downtown this year by lighting.

The non-profit went before City Council on Nov. 4 to discuss the holiday lights funding request for Plaza Park and downtown square.

The annual event, which brings on average more than 50,000 people, has been downsized due to COVID-19.

No background information or presentation was provided in the City of Kyle’s agenda packet regarding its holiday festivities.

In other news, the city council will also consider appropriate parking rations for a Dutch Bros Coffee Facility located 20325 I-35.

The location is an undeveloped pad site between Firestone Tires and Taco Bell.

The council will hold an in-person and virtual meeting at 7:00 PM Tuesday. Residents wishing to speak in person or virtually or submit public comments must fill out the form here by 12:00 PM on the day of the meeting.
