The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in June 2020 across 8 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest-growing rents.
The Texas one-bedroom median rent was $950 last month.
The Most Expensive
–Austin rent dropped 0.8% to $1,250 last month but remained the most expensive in the metro.
–Georgetown ranked as the second priciest city with rent at $1,150.
–Cedar Park rent fell 4.3% to $1,120 and ranked as third.
The Least Expensive
–San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one-bedrooms priced at $890.
–Kyle & Round Rock were tied for second-most affordable with one-bedroom rents both at $1,040.
–Pflugerville ranked as third with rent at $1,050.
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
– Cedar Park had the fastest-growing rent, up 6.7% since this time last year.
– Kyle saw rent climb 6.1%, making it the second-fastest-growing.
– Austin was third with rent climbing 5%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Kyle & Round Rock were tied for the city with the fastest-growing rent last month, both with prices up 1%.
