Kyle Mother Seeks Answers About Son’s Hit-And-Run Accident

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle to be a red Dodge Ram 3500 work truck with a welder in the bed.

Michael Mince was killed after being struck by a vehicle three weeks ago on FM 2001.

On Dec. 26, Michael was walking with two friends when he was struck from behind by a truck. Investigators believe the vehicle was a red Dodge Ram 3500.

Though several tips have been received, investigators say there have been no solid leads to the driver or the vehicle. Neighbors living by FM 2001 near Nielderwald reported hearing what sounded like two vehicles colliding at the time of the accident.

Now family and friends of the victim continue to await answers for the 15-year-old’s death.

Michael’s mother, Karin Mince, said the hardest part is knowing that someone could leave the scene and her son as if he was trash on the side of the road.

According to DPS, the suspect vehicle could be missing the passenger side mirror and have damage along the right side of the car. Authorities believe the vehicle to have bene a work truck and to contain a welder in the bed.

Mince seeks closure for the unexpected death of her son and asks that the driver come forward and admit their mistake.
