Kyle Parks and Recreation hosts 2021 Founders’ Parade

Staff Reports

KYLE, TEXAS – The City of Kyle invites the community to share in the town’s birthday celebration at the annual Founders’ Parade on Saturday, Oct. 9 starting at 10 a.m.

Parades through downtown around the middle of October have been a custom ever since Kyle was platted and the first lots were sold in October of 1880 — a Kyle tradition for over 140 years.

The parade will start at Gregg-Clarke Park and travel along Center Street, ending at Front Street on the City Square. Immediately after the parade, a celebration for the city’s birthday will be held on Burleson Street and will include birthday cupcakes, music and lots of family fun.

This year’s parade theme will be “Keep it Kyle.”

The best locations to view the Kyle Founders Parade are on either side of Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park. To keep everyone safe, the city is asking attendees to stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street and to not run into the street when the parade is going by. For coverage of the parade, follow the City of Kyle Facebook page.

For more information, go to CityofKyle.com/FoundersParade, contact the Kyle Parks Office at 512-262-3939 or email sboyer@cityofkylsboyer@cityofkyle.come.com.
