Kyle Police Department Identifies Man Discovered On Roadside

Kyle, TX – Kyle Police are releasing the name of the man found deceased on Kyle Crossing early last week.

John Raymond Distasio, 55, was found on July 2 by a pedestrian who was on the way to work. At the time, police did not find any identification so officers weren’t immediately aware of the man’s name or age.

Hays Co. Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith ordered an autopsy of his body and fingerprints were used to confirm his identification.

It is believed that Distasio was a transient from New Mexico.

Preliminary reports indicate illegal drug use was involved in Distasio’s death. The final cause of death and toxicology report are still pending, though police do not suspect foul play.
