KYLE, TEXAS – The City of Kyle has a policy in place to help residents who experienced water leaks in indoor and outdoor plumbing during the recent winter storm events.
The City of Kyle’s Water Leak Adjustment Policy has been in place since 2010 and allows Kyle water customers — commercial and residential — to pay a lower rate in the event of a leak.
The financial impact from water leaks due to the storm will appear on City of Kyle utility customers’ next utility bills which will be sent at the end of March 2021 and will be due by April 15, 2021.
Those that had broken water pipes or experienced water leaks in their plumbing system due to the freezing temperatures, will need to complete a water leak adjustment request form, available in English and Spanish.
The form can be completed online at the links below:
The form can also be downloaded and printed from the above links and emailed to All-Utilities@cityofkyle.com, mailed to the Utility Billing Department at 100 W. Center St., Kyle, TX 78640, or dropped off in person at City Hall Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Kyle Public Library has forms available and will also assist residents in filling them out if needed. The Kyle Public Library, located at 550 Scott St., is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Applicants will need to attach copies of their receipts for the repairs to the form to adjust the water bill based on the Water Leak Adjustment Policy.
It will take the City of Kyle Utility Billing Department at least two weeks to process a request for a water leak adjustment, so applicants are asked to remain patient.
