LANE TO US 290 EAST
On Sunday, Dec. 20 through Tuesday, Dec. 22, the southbound I-35 mainlanes between Braker Lane and US 290 East will close each night at 9 p.m.
The Braker Lane and Rundberg Lane entrance ramps and Rundberg Lane exit (#240) will also be closed.
Southbound I-35 traffic will detour to the frontage road at the Rundberg Lane exit (#241) and reenter the mainlanes at the next entrance ramp south of St. Johns Avenue. All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m.
Beginning at 11 p.m. on Sunday and Monday nights, Dec. 20-21, there will be rolling closures on the northbound I-35 mainlanes between US 290 East and Rundberg Lane.
The rolling closures will be short, with mainlanes being reopened as work is completed.
The US 290 East entrance ramp and northbound I-35 to northbound US 183 flyover will also be closed. All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m.

Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road with the new configuration, I-35 main lanes will going over Posey Road.
This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County/TxDOT and is expected to cost $31.7 million funded by TxDOT.
The I-35 and Posey Road construction started in February 2019 and anticipated construction completion is planned for mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC.

The estimated construction cost is $21.9 million and is funded by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and TxDOT. Construction commenced in September 2020 and its anticipated completion is early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from FM 150 to Brent Boulevard.

Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from FM 1626 to Kyle Crossing.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016 with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.
The construction commenced in January 2018 with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams.

• Sunday, Dec. 20 through Monday, Dec. 21 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 closed nightly from Braker Lane to US 290 East. Multiple entrances and exit ramps will also be closed.
• Sunday, Dec. 20 through Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed nightly from St. Johns Avenue to Huntland Drive.
• Sunday, Dec. 20 through Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound US 183 reduced to one lane from I-35 to Cameron Road.
• Sunday, Dec. 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed nightly from I-35 to Cameron Road.
• Sunday, Dec. 20 through Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The projected cost is estimated at $8.2 million and funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction will start in August 2020 and anticipated to be complete in mid-2021. The project contractor is Jordan Foster Construction.

The estimated construction cost for this project is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) with an estimated cost of $24.6 million.
Construction started in July 2019 with an estimated timeline to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation is the project contractor.
