I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.

Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road. With the new configuration, I-35 main lanes will be going over Posey Road.

This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County/TxDOT and is expected to cost $31.7 million funded by TxDOT.

The I-35 and Posey Road construction started in February 2019, and anticipated construction completion is planned for mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC.

All closures are weather permitting.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) closed.
Until further notice.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 York Creek Road exit (#196) closed.
Until further notice.

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will reconfigure the northbound entrance/exit ramps between RM 150 and Kyle Crossing. The improvements include reversing the northbound entrance/exit ramps, reconstructing the northbound frontage road, adding new extended lanes between entrance/exit ramps, and constructing a new frontage road bridge over Plum Creek.

The estimated construction cost is $21.9 million and is funded by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and TxDOT. Construction commenced in September 2020, and its anticipated completion is early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from FM 150 to Brent Boulevard.
Through February 2021.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from FM 1626 to Kyle Crossing.
Through late 2021.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive and the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek. Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive. The I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for a smoother merge onto I-35.

This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016 with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.

The construction commenced in January 2018 with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams.

Northbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Gessner Drive.
Jan. 10 through Monday, Jan. 11 from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 frontage road closed from Wonsley Drive to US 183. The US 183 exit (#240) will also be closed.
Sunday, Jan. 10 from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive.
Monday, Sunday, Jan. 10 through Thursday, Jan. 14 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive.
Monday, Jan. 11 through Friday, Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

LANE CLOSURE

South to north I-35 U-turn closed daily at US 290 East.
Monday, Jan. 11 through Friday, Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 rolling closure from US 290 East to Rundberg Lane.
Thursday, Jan. 14 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 closed from Braker Lane to US 183. The Braker Lane entrance ramp and the US 183 exit (#240) will also be closed.
Thursday, Jan. 14 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH-45 NORTH 1

PROJECT ACTIVITY | Improvements include reversing ramps, constructing an extended entrance/exit lane on the northbound I-35 mainlanes under SH-45 North, along the frontage road, installing high-mast lighting, and improvements at Picadilly Drive and the I-35 frontage road.

The projected cost is estimated at $8.2 million and funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction will start in August 2020 and is anticipated to be complete in mid-2021. The project contractor is Jordan Foster Construction.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Reduced congestion, improved mobility at Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.

This project’s estimated construction cost is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) with an estimated cost of $24.6 million.

Construction started in July 2019 with an estimated timeline to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation is the project contractor.

Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Wells Branch Parkway to Three Points Road. The Grand Avenue Parkway exit (#248) and the Wells Branch Parkway entrance ramp will also be closed.

Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from River Oaks Drive to Bowery Trail.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from the Parmer Lane entrance ramp to the FM 1825 exit (#247). The FM 1825 exit and the Parmer Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
Tuesday, Jan. 12 through Wednesday, Jan. 13 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound and southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from Airport Boulevard to US 290 East.
Tuesday, Jan. 12 through Thursday, Jan. 14 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
