On Sunday, April 25 at 10 p.m., the existing northbound I-35 to northbound US 183 flyover will close to traffic, weather permitting.
During the closure, crews will demolish and reconstruct a portion of the flyover. Construction is expected to last approximately four months.
To accommodate this reconstruction, a long-term detour will be put in place.
Northbound I-35 drivers wishing to access northbound US 183 will use the Rundberg Lane exit (#241) and take the non-signalized U-turn at Rundberg Lane to access the new southbound I-35 to northbound US 183 flyover.

Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road. With the new configuration, I-35 main lanes will be going over Posey Road.
This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County/TxDOT and is expected to cost $31.7 million funded by TxDOT.
The I-35 and Posey Road construction started in February 2019, and anticipated construction completion is planned for mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC.

The estimated construction cost is $21.9 million and is funded by the CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction commenced in September 2020, and its anticipated completion is early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

The estimated construction cost is $14 million funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction commenced in January 2021, and its anticipated completion in mid-2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive. The I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for a smoother merge onto I-35.
This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016, with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

• Sunday, May 16 through Wednesday, May 19 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from William Cannon Drive to Stassney Lane. The William Cannon Drive and Stassney Lane entrance ramps will also be closed.
• Sunday, May 16 through Monday, May 17 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from William Cannon Drive to Slaughter Lane.
• Monday, May 17 through Saturday, May 22 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Southbound I-35 U-turn lane closed at William Cannon Drive.
• Tuesday, May 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from William Cannon Drive to Stassney Lane.
• Wednesday, May 19 through Thursday, May 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed from Williamson Creek to William Cannon Drive. The William Cannon Drive exit (#228) will also be closed.
• Thursday, May 20 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Westbound SH 71 to southbound I-35 flyover closed.
• Thursday, May 20 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Southbound I-35 left lane closed at Williamson Creek.
• Thursday, May 20 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.
The construction commenced in January 2018, with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams.

This project’s estimated construction cost is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and CAMPO with an estimated $24.6 million cost.
Construction started in July 2019 with an estimated timeline to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation is the project contractor.
