I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.

Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road with the new configuration, I-35 main lanes will going over Posey Road.

This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County/TxDOT and is expected to cost $31.7 million funded by TxDOT.

The I-35 and Posey Road construction started in February 2019 and anticipated construction completion is planned for mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) closed.

Southbound I-35 York Creek Road exit (#196) closed.
Until further notice.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Posey Road to York Creek Road.
Friday, Oct. 30 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound and southbound I-35 left lane closed from Centerpoint Road to York Creek Road.
Sunday, Nov. 1 through Monday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will reconfigure the northbound entrance/exit ramps between RM 150 and Kyle Crossing. The improvements include reversing the northbound entrance/exit ramps, reconstructing the northbound frontage road, adding new extended lanes between entrance/exit ramps, and constructing a new frontage road bridge over Plum Creek.

The estimated construction cost is $21.9 million and is funded by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and TxDOT. Construction commenced in September 2020 and is anticipated completion is early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from RM 1626 to Kyle Crossing.
Through December 2020.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from RM 150 to Brent Boulevard.
Through January 2021.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek. Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.

This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016 with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound and southbound I-35 left lane closed from William Cannon Drive to Stassney Lane.

Northbound and southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Slaughter Lane to Stassney Lane.
Monday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Stassney Lane to the Onion Creek Parkway exit (#226).
Monday, Nov. 2 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from William Cannon Drive to the Onion Creek Parkway exit (#226).
Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 right lane closed from Stassney Lane to William Cannon Drive. The William Cannon Drive exit (#228) will also be closed.
Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from William Cannon Drive to the Onion Creek Parkway exit (#226). The Slaughter Lane exit (#227) will also be closed.
Thursday, Nov. 5 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.

The construction commenced in January 2018 with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound US 183 frontage road closed continuously from Clock Tower Drive to I-35. The Lamar Boulevard/I-35 exit will also be closed.

Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Rundberg Lane to US 183. The Rundberg Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
Sunday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound US 183 right lane closed nightly from I-35 to Cameron Road.
Sunday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 5 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive.
Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound US 183 closed from Cameron Road to I-35. The Cameron Road entrance ramp will also be closed.
Monday, Nov. 2 from 8 p.m. until 12 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound US 183 frontage road closed from Norwood Park to I-35. The Cameron Road entrance ramp and Lamar Boulevard/I-35 exit will also be closed.
Monday, Nov. 2 from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

LANE CLOSURE

Northbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Gessner Drive.
Monday, Nov. 2 through Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH 45 NORTH

PROJECT ACTIVITY | Improvements include reversing ramps, constructing an extended entrance/exit lane on the northbound I-35 mainlanes under SH 45 North, along the frontage road, installing high-mast lighting, and improvements at Picadilly Drive and the I-35 frontage road.

The projected cost is estimated at $8.2 million and funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction will start in August 2020 and anticipated to be complete in mid-2021. The project contractor is Jordan Foster Construction. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Grand Avenue Parkway to SH 45 North. The Grand Avenue Parkway entrance ramp and the Louis Henna Boulevard exit (#250) will also be closed.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Reduced congestion, improved mobility at Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.

The estimated construction cost for this project is funded by Texas Clear Lanes and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) with an estimated cost of $24.6 million.

Construction started in July 2019 with an estimated timeline to be completed by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation as the project contractor. All closures are weather permitting.
