Currently, the I-35 main lanes go under Posey Road with the new configuration, I-35 main lanes will going over Posey Road.
This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County/TxDOT and is expected to cost $31.7 million funded by TxDOT.
The I-35 and Posey Road construction started in February 2019 and anticipated construction completion is planned for mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) closed.

Southbound I-35 York Creek Road exit (#196) closed.
• Until further notice
Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Posey Road to York Creek Road.

The estimated construction cost is $21.9 million and is funded by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and TxDOT. Construction commenced in September 2020 and is anticipated completion is early of 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project. All closures are weather permitting.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 main lanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
This major project is estimated to cost $78.8 million. Construction started in July 2016 with the anticipated completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc. All closures are weather permitting.

Northbound I-35 closed nightly from Slaughter Lane to SH 71/US 290. Multiple entrance ramps will also be closed.
• Friday, Oct. 9 through Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 p.m. until 10 a.m.
Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Stassney Lane to Teri Road.
• Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Foremost Drive to Slaughter Lane.
• Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Northbound Stassney Lane right-turn lane closed daily at the southbound I-35 frontage road.
• Monday, Oct. 12 through Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Slaughter Lane to Stassney Lane.
• Sunday, Oct. 11 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 10 a.m.
• Friday, Oct. 16 from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m.

I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East is estimated to cost $124.2 million and is made possible by Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.
The construction commenced in January 2018 with an anticipated completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is J.D. Abrams. All closures are weather permitting.

• Sunday, Oct. 11 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from Wonsley Drive to US 183. The US 183/St. Johns Avenue exit (#240) will also be closed.
• Sunday, Oct. 11 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from St. Johns Avenue to Huntland Drive.
• Sunday, Oct. 11 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound US 183 left lane closed nightly from I-35 to Providence Avenue.
• Sunday, Oct. 11 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive.
• Monday, Oct. 12 through Friday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from the Rundberg Lane exit (#241) to Rundberg Lane.
• Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from St. Johns Avenue to Blackson Avenue.
• Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
US 183 right lane closed nightly from Cameron Road to I-35. The Lamar Boulevard/I-35 exit will also be closed.
• Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed nightly at US 183. The Rundberg Lane entrance ramp will also be closed.
• Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The projected cost is estimated at $8.2 million and funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction will start in August 2020 and anticipated to be complete in mid-2021. The project contractor is Jordan Foster Construction. All closures are weather permitting.
