The City of Kyle will host an open house to provide information regarding how Public Improvement Districts (PIDs) work and how they may benefit the City and the homeowners who might consider purchasing a home in a PID. The City’s proposed PID policy will also be discussed.
The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st, at Kyle City Hall, and will begin at 7 P.M.
City staff and several professionals with experience in various methods used to finance developments, including PIDs, will be on hand to answer questions.
PIDs are created in Chapter 372 of the Local Government Code to offer cities and counties a means for improving their infrastructure to promote economic growth in an area. The Public Improvement District Assessment Act allows cities and counties to levy and collect special assessments on properties that are within the city or its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
