Dear Editor,
The San Marcos Lions Club is widely known in Central Texas for their tube rental operations on the San Marcos River. They are a go-to place for outdoor, summertime fun.
The public may be less aware that their tube rentals help support generous philanthropic work in the community.
As one of the many local organizations benefiting from the SMLC’s charitable giving, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) trains and supports local volunteers as advocates for children who’ve been abused, neglected and abandoned.
We know the Lions as a Club, and we know them as individuals, including several of their members who serve as trained advocates for the children and others who served on CASA’s Board of Directors.
As the San Marcos Lions Club gets ready to open the 2018 tube season, we appreciate them as long-standing, valued, strategic partners stepping up to improve the health and welfare of our community’s children.
