AUSTIN, Texas – (March 10, 2015) – No wristband? No problem! Once again KUTX 98.9, The Austin Music Experience, is partnering with Four Seasons Hotel Austin to connect music fans to some of the most anticipated artists at the 2015 SXSW Music Conference, including Delta Spirit and Chuck Prophet, and those poised to break out.
 
KUTX 98.9 will air four early morning broadcasts live from the Four Seasons Austin Hotel Ballroom from 7 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 20, and from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 21.
 
The event is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is $10 per person (ages 2 and under are free) per day and includes a breakfast taco, a granola bar and coffee. Proceeds benefit the Seton Shivers Cancer Center.

9 a.m. Singer, songwriter, guitarist and student of 70s folk rock Israel Nash

8 a.m. Austin’s T-Bird & the Breaks performing soul, chunk, funk, R&B and hip-hop
9 a.m. North London four-piece alternative rock band Wolf Alice
10 a.m. Southern California indie rockers Delta Spirit
Saturday, March 21
8 a.m. Austin’s Cilantro Boombox, borrowing inspiration from salsa, reggae blues and house music
9 a.m.  Ibeyi, French-Cuban twins who sing in English and Yoruba — a Nigerian language
10 a.m. Twerps, a Melbourne foursome named “the best new band in Australia” by Uncut
11 a.m. California singer-songwriter and guitarist Chuck Prophet
 
Limited self-parking is available in the hotel garage on a first-come, first served basis at a discounted rate of $5 per car until 1 p.m.
 
The Four Seasons Austin has been contributing to research at the Shivers Cancer Center for more than 20 years, raising and donating $1.2 million in that time. This year’s check, to be presented during SXSW in March, totals $65,278.35.
 
The Seton Shivers Cancer Center is a hospital-based cancer clinic serving 10 counties in Central Texas. It serves the most complex cancer patients, including specialty care for breast cancer, gynecologic cancers, cancer surgery, pain management and chemotherapy, devoting particular attention to the needs of the vulnerable and underserved/uninsured.
 
In addition to medical treatment, Shivers Center provides a Cancer Care Team that includes specially trained nurses to help patients understand their treatment and navigate through the healthcare process; social workers to link them with community resources; a chaplain for spiritual support; lymphedema care for swelling after surgery or radiation; and a dietitian to help with patients’ special nutrition needs.

 

The research team at Seton Shivers includes physicians and research nurses who offer access to a growing list of clinical trials.
