A Hays County Company, CFan, was awarded an honor by Texas Mutual Insurance Company for workplace safety.

According to the Texas Mutual Insurance, the company recognizes companies annually who make safety in the workplace a priority and demonstrate its commitment by implementing an exemplary safety program.

CFan is one of 200 who received the award throughout the state; each of the recipients have “exemplary safety records and exceptional safety programs.”

CFan was formed in 1993 as a 50/50 Joint Venture between GE Aviation and SNECMA of France.

The company was created to introduce composite fan blades in a GE90 Engine that powers the Boeing 777 and operates a modern 270,000 sq ft facility in San Marcos, Texas.

“We are proud to recognize companies for doing the right thing when it comes to safety,” said Richard Gergasko, president and chief executive officer of Texas Mutual Insurance Company. “These awards commend our policyholders for their commitment to employee safety and support our mission to build a stronger and safer Texas.”
