Local Municipalities Announce Labor Day Schedules

In preparation for the upcoming Labor Day Holiday, local municipalities and Hays County have released modified schedules with closures residents should expect.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, “Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

San Marcos

City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, Public Library, Activity Center, Animal Shelter, Municipal Court, and Utility Offices, will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day.

Texas Disposal Systems will operate its usual trash collection and recycling routes. Rio Vista Swimming Pool will be open for its last weekend of summer operation from 12 to 6 p.m. Saturday through Monday. Animal Control will be available at 512.805.2650.

City offices will reopen Tuesday for normal business hours.

Buda

All city offices, including the Buda Public Library, are closed on Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, in observance of Labor Day.

REMINDER: Hays County

Hays County offices will be closed Monday, September 2, to observe Labor Day. Offices will open at their regular times on Tuesday, September 3.

The Hays County Commissioners Court will meet at 9 AM on Tuesday, September 3, at the Hays County Courthouse, 111 E. San Antonio St., on the Square in San Marcos.

In addition, the main Hays County Clerk’s office in San Marcos at the Government Center will be closed on Monday, August 26. The Clerk’s substations in Dripping Springs, Kyle, and Wimberley are not open on Mondays, so persons needing County Clerk’s services should plan accordingly.
